The best tool I've learned from this course is defiantly Schoology. It just makes everything so clear and easy to understand! Whether is quizzes, assignments, grades, whatever, it's all digitized and available for the students and the instructor. The notifications feature is something I really like; no more tracking the instructor down for a grade. When you want to know your grade, boom there it is! It's ready to go and available as soon as it's posted.
I would love to use Schoology in the future for the reasons stated above; I could easily implement it for any of my university courses. We have an online grading system at the moment; but with Schoology's notification function, my students could know where they are throughout the course. This would allow them to self-assess and improve where/if needed.
I'm glad you liked Schoology. Although it is easy to use, and I have enjoyed using it, there is definitely a learning curve. I think I am getting the hang of the easiest way to do everything, but this is no exact science. I just have to keep working the kinks out of the system.
ReplyDeleteAs stated before, Schoology is the "Facebook for Educators". Not only a great way to get quizzes, assignments and grades out to the students but also just general communication with them all, at once. I'm sure when I get my students using Schoology I will not only make my job and their education easier and more organized but it also generate some creative thinking about digital tools on my behalf and theirs. Let the future begin.
ReplyDeleteSchoology is an excellent tool and I can see myself utilizing this at some stage. Having assignments, quizzes, grades etc all digitized and available is awesome. I have recently opened a home school and ever since “Steve Katz” introduced this to us, I’ve been thinking “I have to implement this amazing tool into my home school.” My business partners also agree. The idea of having everything available for both students and parents interests me the most. I can’t wait to start using “Schoology” with my home school.
ReplyDeleteYeah I have read a few of these posts now and you are the first I have seen who's favorite thing was Schoology. I agree, Schoology is a great tool and I would also love to use it for all of my classes. I get the feeling that there are even more features that make Schoology a great tool that we, or perhaps even Steve, have yet to uncover. Good stuff Colin~
