Last Post with Mary Jane... One more time to get the grade!

The tool I learned from this course that will be best implemented into my classroom is defiantly screencasting. I can’t tell you how many times throughout the semester my students come up to me requesting clarification on how to do something I explained on the first day. My guidelines are usually pretty clear (maybe I could improve a little) but there are still six or seven students, who ask me to repeat something I’ve gone over.
Screencasts will eliminate this issue, I can make detailed “hands on” examples of how to complete certain tasks required for my class; from the simple tasks, to the more difficult ones. The screencast I made for this course is one I chose because it was something I will show my students on the first day of class next semester. Hopefully, it will be the one and only time I will have to go over it. I realize that English is their second language, so the screencasts aren’t just for me to save a few grey hairs and some free time. Honestly, they are more for the students; allowing them to view a video clip of the exact instructions they need to follow is so beneficial! Not to mention that screencasts are archived and available for them whenever they want. I’m actually going to bring this up at the orientation meeting my school has in March. All of the teachers at my university can benefit from this amazing tool, and without this course, I never would have known who to create them!

Signing off… my last “required post”; but not my last! Until then…
